How to Apply for a Room at SHA

Interested in staying at one of our SHA student residences in Antwerp? Here’s how you can apply in just a few steps!

Step 1: Send Us Your Application by Email

To apply for a room or studio, simply email us at info@studenthousingantwerpen.be

What to include in your email:

1. Full name

2. Date of birth & Nationality

3. Current official home address

4. Phone number (with country code)

5. Your e-mail address

6. Preferred room or residence
   (Let us know if you’re interested in a specific unit or just in general availability or within a certain budget range)

7. Start and end date of your stay
   (We offer both full-year and semester or short stay options — mention your exact arrival and departure dates)

8. Student status

   • Are you enrolled at a university or college in Antwerp?

   • If yes: name of your institution and program. Send us a proof of enrollment (Learning Agreement, Acceptance Letter).

   • For internships/research: a valid proof of it

9. Copy of your passport or ID (PDF or clear photo)

10. Parental/financial guarantor details (if you’re under 18 or a student without your own income):

    • Name, email and phone number of at least 1 parent
      • Copy of ID of the parent
      • Proof of income (recent payslip or similar)

What Happens Next?

Once we receive your complete application, we will:

• ✅ Check availability
• ✅ Send you a personalized rental proposal
• ✅ Answer any questions you may have
• ✅ Reserve the room for a short period so you have time to decide If you wish to confirm, we will send you the rental contract and payment instructions.

Important to Know

• SHA rooms are only reserved after signing the contract and paying the deposit.
• A security deposit of 2 months’ rent is required.
• Fixed monthly costs apply for utilities and internet — check your contract for the amount.
• You will receive a full inventory and check-in report (description of premises) at the start of your stay.
